Bike Build

So I'm basically bored out of my mind right now. One thing I've managed to do is more or less breakdown my habit of getting 'sets' when it comes to components, and lockdown a build which gets me drooling. Previously, I had the habit of getting sets. For example, if a brand had a line or collection that included handlebars, seatpost, stem, & wheels, I would list that collection as part of my 'dream build' even though I only liked the wheelsets I did similar things with my music & I'm trying to break the habit by taking ONLY components I LIKE. So here's the list; Eddy Merckx EMX-525 frameset Easton EC90 Aero 56mm wheelset Easton EC90 Aero handlebars Time Xpresso 12 Titan-Carbon pedals S-Works Carbon Road crankarms S-Works SL Carbon spider S-Works SL chainrings PRO Vibe stem PRO Vibe seatpost Shimano Dura-Ace 9070 Di2 (except crankarms, spider & chainrings) Easton R4 casette (Shimano 11-speed compatible) S-Works Tou...

I've said it before; once I'm bored, I start doing lists. So for today, I decided to make a list of cool things I found that would be neat to own. Hehe! GoPro HD Hero. It's a camera for action sports. With an assortment of mounts, you can mount it anywhere to get that awesome footage. The HD Hero model shoots in 1080p videos and 5mp pictures. Impressive considering it's just this small little thing. P/S; the camera is mounted on the helmet. You don't get a free helmet (nor goggles) with the purchase of the camera. Hehe! A cyclocross bike. Cyclocross is sometimes written/typed as CX. They look identical to road bikes with the drops bars and all but they're actually built to go off-road. Pretty neat concept. Hehe. If you notice the bike in the picture below has drop bars and rather thin tires, reminiscent of a road bike. Some ring I found on this website called Novica and it looks like a Jaguar. The animal, not the car. It's a really nifty loo...

Au Revoir 2010 and Bonjour 2011!

I have been so busy!! I haven't had time to post anything for the new year. This has happened to me, what 2 years in a row? Huh. Go figure. Well, a lot has come and passed in 2010. Debates, public speaking, having fun with friends -- QM, Lina, Alliya, Sharanya, Divya, and Letticia who make up the debate team! --, lots of laughter, lots of heartache -- Add Math, I'm looking at you --, did my first downhill mountain biking run, did my SPM/O-Levels, just to name a few. Looking back, many of my friends were kinda sad on the last day(s) of SPM but somehow I wasn't too bothered. Yeah, I knew I was going to miss all of them but I didn't feel sad. Call me a heartless creep but yeah, kinda. Huh. Anyway, I certainly hope that everyone keeps in touch! Another year, another new year's resolution. Before that, however, I want to look back at this year's resolution and see what I've accomplished As I've said in the post Custom Order New Year's Resolutio...

Round 7 Over. 3 More To Go

So I've made it through 7 subjects totalling 15 papers. Phew. 3 more subjects to go. That means another 8 more papers. O_O'. I have 3 days to brush up my Chemistry then one day to memorize Biology then 1 week to pour over my NatGeo magazines for EST. At least after Biology, I can hit PCP!! YEEAAH!!! So far, SPM wasn't too bad. Insyaallah I will be OK. I hope so. P/S I've managed to keep my promise of staying off Facebook for 3 weeks. I'll stay off until AFTER I sit for my EST papers. Why? Because I know I can do it.

Chinese New Year Break!

The one week Chinese New Year holidays have started! That means... -building up to climatic reveal- more studying. Huhuhu. Talk about anti-climatic. I really, really hope I can get a full-face helmet, some padding and go hit the slopes at Putrajaya Challenge Park ! Huhu. -Sigh-. We'll see how that turns out. To all my Chinese friends and/or my fellow bloggers & bloggerettes, regardless of race, age or gender, I wish you a very happy Chinese New Year!!

Custom Order New Year's Resolutions

I know it is already the 2nd of January and I know this should have been written the LATEST by 31st December but I finally got around to writing this -- and thinking about it. Hehe. I've color-coded them by the way. Red means VERY important, Purple means preferable but optional and Green means it's just something I want that isn't important. Hehe. So my New Year's Resolutions -- which are in no particular order of importance are; A full-face MTB helmet. Preferrably -- or rather, hopefully -- from Specialized or SixSixOne but I don't mind any other brand. As long as I like it -- duh. Elbow/forearm + knee/shin guards. This too I would prefer SixSixOne. Or maybe Fox Head but again, I'm just hoping. 10 A's for SPM -- duh. Improve myself so that I study hard AND smart. A lot. Without burning out. That means minimum 1 SOLID hour a day. Then I can play, a bit. Get Abah a bike and hit the trails one fine weekend. Get a scholarship to M.I.T and do en...

Today's Wrap-Up

Today hasn't been the most pleasant day for me. The morning started out innocent enough with me being able to chat with my girl. Then I had breakfast and a small post-breakfast snack of brownies and raspberries. Yummy! I'll post pictures as soon as I can. Though the raspberries left a funny after taste. Oh well. After that, I turned my laptop back on and it lagged like hell the whole day. It was really frustrating. Seems to be OK now. I hope so. My brother and I watched Kung Fu Panda today. Haha. I feel like buying some novels from MPH to read over the holidays. Hmm. We'll see. That's all for now. Au revoir.

Just Some Blabber

Just thought I'd blabber a bit. It's been a long time since I did a good, solid post. On a regular basis, at least. God it feels good to be able to blog freely again. This year has been one hell of a roller coaster. The new subjects are something new altogether. Chemistry and Add Math are my weak points. And history too. I used to be good at history but the recent topics aren't so interesting. And to make things worse, Form 4 topics WILL be asked in SPM. T-T. Ah well, no pain no gain, eh? Away from the topic off school, I'm watching a show on Discovery Channel about Indian cuisine. It is kind of interesting. Making me hungry. Haha. I like pepper. I had been waiting for this game since early this year. It was due out early-mid autumn this year called Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. The best thing, it came out the day after my birthday. Even though I didn't get it then. Hehe. I already have it by the way and it is awesome! It's even better than the...

No More Exams! (Sort Of)

Image
The exams are finally over! Woohoo!!! Well, mostly. Next Monday is just EST & Civic. This is just some post I've been working on. I recently got a mountain bike for my birthday -- apparently its a downhill bike -- and it really spurred my budding interest in mountain bikes. So my goal is to try out a mountain bike course. The one is Sek. 13 looks really cool. I heard there's one in Putrajaya. Oh well. I've looked up videos of downhill mtb and it looks AWESOME!! Dangerous but I think I'd enjoy it. I did some digging around the internet and apparently these people wear some serious armor. Those things are going to be expensive... Ah well, people can dream, can't they? So, here is my post-exam goal/wishlist. Haha. Go mountain biking. Either downhill or just the regular trail, I'm fine either way but considering my lack of armor and the kind of falls downhill guys take, I'll stick to the trails. Get a helmet. A full face helmet. Kinda lik...

I Need to Update More Often, Shouldn't I?

Image
Its been so long since I blogged. I've been caught up with studying and doing the Bio presentation and so many other things. I know, lame excuse, I used to be able to find time, etc. Its just I can't seem to pass my Chemistry & Add Math papers. I swore I did so much better for Add Math. Yeah sure, my marks went up from 10% to 35% or 38% but its not enough. I need to PASS. *Sigh*. This year is almost up and next year I have SPM. NOOO! So next year it's back to seminars, books, minimal TV & no PlayStation 3. ToT, The horror! Haha. I'm overreacting. Anyway, before zooming too far into the future, how to kick back during the holidays? Hmm. If only kicking back was as simple as portrayed by this cute kitten. Hehe. The rugby team is organizing a 3 day 2 night stay at Langkawi on December 15th but I'm not going. My dad isn't exactly screaming 'yes' and my mom gave a flat 'no' so I'll stay home. Kind of a bummer but it's ...

An Interesting Day In A Long Time

There are two very important events coming up. One is Hari Raya Eid il Fitr. I know everyone is getting hyped up for it. Is it just me or do I feel more hype among my friends this year? Oh well. The second important upcoming event is my birthday!! Its in two days' time so boys and girls, I expect you to break the bank getting me all kinds of expensive presents! Muahahaha. Just kidding. A sincere 'Happy Birthday' is sufficient. And please smile. In case some of you were planning on saying it half-heartedly. There's only one teeny problem. I don't know what to ask for my birthday! Is this normal? I don't know but I seem pretty content with my life. I mean, sure there are a few things I would like but I'm afraid of breaking the bank. Hmm... Anyway, this morning took an interesting turn while I was getting ready. I was still in my towel and about to put on my contacts when all the lights in my room went out. I went to my parents room to check o...

Bucket List

Image
Just wanted to update my 'Bucket List'. 1. Go back to the US. Preferrably Massachusettes. Especially during autumn 2. Go to a nice college in the US. Hopefully nothing too intimidating. 3. Be able to slow dance on a beach at sunset or under the stars with her. 4. Catch an All Blacks vs. Wallabies game. vs.

The Bucket List

Image
I just watched the Bucket List. It's a great movie. Heavy drama. Very moving. I think, I'll write my own bucket list. For the heck of it. And as time progresses, change it, or slash out whatever has been achieved. So here it goes: 1) To be able to slow dance on a beach under the stars or during sunset with her. 2) Make it to M.I.T and graduate. 3) Get a good, solid, steady job with a good income. 4) Own a Corvette or a Mustang

Sneakers & Sandals

As the title suggests, this has something to do with footwear. It's difficult to find footwear that will last at least 3 years in terms of not falling apart. Most will fall apart after 3 months. My current sneakers held up for about a year+ thankfully. But now it's falling apart so I need a new one. No more Nike for me. But I'm still not getting Adidas. Yes, I'm a Nike person for life. But I'm not buying any Nike from Malaysia. Minimal quality control -- if there is any to start with. I'm considering either Puma, Fila or Skechers for my next sneakers. I'm hoping it won't fall apart either. Those Fila sneaks aren't that bad. Neither are the Skechers. I'm torn between going for the tennis shoe-style sneakers or for the hardy hiking boots... If I go for the hiking boots, I'll look for Colombia or something. Hm... I think it's time I had somewhat of a makeover. Tennis shoe-styled sneakers it is. As for the sandals, that's ...

Weekend Plans

How should I start? Why not with my plans for the weekends? That sounds nice. Yes, I'll start with an overview of the weekend. We're not doing anything. Haha. So much for plan. All I know is that I'm probably going to get New Moon. Woohoo! I'm getting New Moon in 3 or 4 days. Hopefully. Imagine that; two novels within a week. And the first one I finished in under 24 hours. Geez. Good thing I have the money. Last night my brother started to read the book Twilight.I don't know when he will finish it. We can only pray that he will. He seems to like it. Look out girls; you might have the real thing coming. Unfortunately he is 6 years younger than you gals. Sorry. *Sigh*. Curious and nervous to see what next year has in store for us. Hopefully another exciting year. Or at least an interesting one. I'm getting New Moon this weekend! Yeehaw! Fingers crossed! That's all for now though I'm probably gonna publish another post today. We'll see.

Boredom, Boredom, Boredom

Why is it that we teenagers are faced with the same dilemma year in, year out? Whenever the school break starts, we will suffer. There has to got to be a way to overcome our boredom. Aargh! Then there are the PMR results to worry about this year. Goddamn it. You know what, after sitting down and letting this play through my mind for quite a while, I've come to realize it's not my friends that I miss so much, it's my girl. I love the feeling of being with her. It's like being on cloud 9. Seventh Heaven, some might say. Just being able to see her smile brightens my dad. It kills me to see even the slightest hint of pain in her eyes. Those alluring brown eyes. I miss her so much & listening to our song ain't doing much good. You might be thinking "what the hell am I telling you guys for?" or "Oh god, not another sorry lovesick puppy," but it's my blog so please, take it as it is. Anywho, writing about it helps a bit but not m...

Dreaming of Edward Cullen, Girls?

Why must you girls dream and idolize Edward Cullen to such an extent? There are some guys who have given up hope on finding a girl 'cause you gals keep comparing us with him. Others have actually started to wish they were Edward Cullen. You girls are going to cause some guys to commit suicide if you keep it up. What is it that makes Eddie so desirable? Is it his quotes? The way Stephanie Meyer describes him? I don't see you talking about the plot. This leads me to assume that the only reason you girls buy the books are for Edward. How is the plot? OK? The best? Or is it Edward that is the best? I believe it is the last one. Is Edward THAT dreamy? I fear sooner or later some poor soul will commit suicide because his girl demanded him to be exactly like Edward (not me. My girl hasn't read Twilight -- I think) but being merely human, not fictional, he couldn't. PLEASE! Enlighten me!

What I Want

I'm so bored. Hoorah. What a way to start your post. That'll discourage everyone from reading any further. Bravo, Aqil. Nicely done; very smooth. Well, now that I've started writing, I might as well get on with it. Pardon me about the previous paragraph; I was 'expressing' myself. You remember that post I published some time back; "Things I Want to Do Now That PMR is Over"? Yeah, well, scrap what I said there. What I really REALLY want to be able to be able to go to a beach at night and just relax. Listen to the waves. Hearing Sway by Michael Bublé in the distance. Sitting there, sipping a Pina Cholada, with her. I would be reciting -- or rather whispering -- a poem in her ear. Something I wrote. She'd be blushing furiously. Then we slow dance under the stars and a full moon. I know I'm probably out of touch with reality but hey, most of you girls are probably dreaming about Yamada Ryosuke or Edward Cullen. Weii Syuen, you were very right; I am ro...

Things I Want to do to Now That PMR is Over

I want to go to the beach. I want to be able to feel the sand between my toes ( what a cliché, I know). I want to have a picnic with my beloved family on a nice, sandy beach. Museum hopping. I want to go museum hopping with my dad!! I miss the out-of-classroom feeling you get when you go to the museum. Hang out with friends. I want to just hang out at a mall with my friends. I don't care if we watch a movie or not, it doesn't matter. I want to have adventures all over Bkt. Jelutong with Faris and the gang again. We tackled every hill, every pothole, every flooded pathway BJ threw at us. I want to continue my novel and try to at least do some more chapters. I want to get back to writing poetry. I want to either visit Mama in Canada or she come back so we can celebrate the end of PMR like family. Read up on Malay folklore. I just love the tales of mysticism, the elaborate language and elements of mythology in it. You know, the stuff of legends.
