Happy 200th Birthday, Robert Bunsen!!

Does the name 'Bunsen' sound familiar? No it's not the F1 driver. That one is J ensen B utton . Ah, the good old days in the high school science lab where we have to heat something up or set something on fire -- remember that peanut during Bio? The one where we measure the calories? Those were the good days. And we were able to do all that thanks to our school syllabus, our school funds and a guy named Robert Bunsen, the inventor of the Bunsen burner. 8D. One of the most fun things to play with in the lab. Oh, I remember all those burnt pencil tips & ends, the lighted mechanical pencil leads, the pieces of paper, the occasional fireball from leaving the gas on for too long -- speaking of which, one such fireball almost took out a friend of mine, Faris Iylia & myself. Some of the girls left it on too long, finally got the electric lighter and while they were pointing it away from themselves -- and accidentally at us -- out of fear of it going BOOM in their f...

Hello?

Good thing this blog is digital... Otherwise I think my previous posts would've rotted away by now. Hehe! It's been quite a while since I last posted something here. Um, just a random, pointless update... Wait, it's not pointless, then since it's an update... -_-" I want to do triathlons someday. OK, now at least it's still random. 8D But seriously, I want to be able to do triathlons someday.

Hello? Anybody Home?

Yesterday, we had cleaned the fishpond -- that was exhausting. Today, we planned to visit my grandfather -- or as my brother, my cousins and I call him, Atuk -- in Banting. Worrying that there wouldn't be any food, we swung by KFC at D'Pangkin to buy a bucket -- this is a rarity. We bought the one that can feed 5-6 people. Bloody expensive. RM75++. So we officially hit the road around 11:45 or so. An hour's journey coupled with bad drivers -- there seem to be a lot of those in Malaysia -- and we were at Atuk's doorstep around 1:50-ish. Amazingly, no one was home. His car wasn't in the driveway. We swung by my cousin's house which was in the area and they too weren't home. We figured there must've been some kenduri somewhere and Atuk sort of forgot about us. Huhu. Well, he doesn't get guests too often. So for the heck of it, we swung by Pantai Morib. My first time. Hehe! Before that, my dad said that if followed the sign to Pantai Kelana...

An Interesting Day In A Long Time

There are two very important events coming up. One is Hari Raya Eid il Fitr. I know everyone is getting hyped up for it. Is it just me or do I feel more hype among my friends this year? Oh well. The second important upcoming event is my birthday!! Its in two days' time so boys and girls, I expect you to break the bank getting me all kinds of expensive presents! Muahahaha. Just kidding. A sincere 'Happy Birthday' is sufficient. And please smile. In case some of you were planning on saying it half-heartedly. There's only one teeny problem. I don't know what to ask for my birthday! Is this normal? I don't know but I seem pretty content with my life. I mean, sure there are a few things I would like but I'm afraid of breaking the bank. Hmm... Anyway, this morning took an interesting turn while I was getting ready. I was still in my towel and about to put on my contacts when all the lights in my room went out. I went to my parents room to check o...

Woohoo!

I FINALLY managed to upload some -- fine, quite a lot -- of media to the PS3! Woohoo! At long last! Victory! If I was in ancient Greece, I'd run to Goddess Nike's temple. Haha. But I'm not. And I don't want to be. I'm perfectly happy as a Muslim in the 21st century. Alhamdulillah I managed to upload the pictures and music.

Life Can Be So Outta Whack

The school holidays kicked off with me feeling rock-bottom, with my mood improving immensely throughout the first week, the second week started to get monotonous, now I'm back to rock-bottom. Life's weird isn't it? My dad told me a phrase once, "life's a bitch, then you die". How true

Toodly Doodly Doom

Sometimes, life likes to blow your world into pieces one moment, only to put it back together the next moment. But leave you with the grief and shock of what just happened. Yes, I'm being delusional again. But not as bad as in my last post. Now is more like just saying I'm back! No more being moody "doom talk"... Plus, I'm just really bored and so I'm publishing this post... Hahaha. OH! Tomorrow Bomba is having Kawad Hos. Yaay! Time to see if I've worked on my strength. I'm not quite sure but hopefully... Hopefully...

Mad World...

Ever felt like your whole world just got blown up? Yet remained intact. It formed billions of little cracks all over by a force that should've ruined it. Shell-shock would be a fitting term. More specifically, you feel like everyone is out to get you. And you cannot trust anyone but everyone seems oblivious to what you're going through and life carries on? Like you're detached from the world yet, at the same time, at the centre of it? I know, I'm probbably making no sense but if anyone has ever felt it, there's nothing scarier than that. The feeling that life goes on without you but yet, life is intent on blowing your world up... Yaddaa, yaddaa, I probbably sound delusional...

Twilight

Image
I finally bought Twilight. It's a great book, I have to admit. The original plan was to buy it in Subang Parade but things didn't go as planned so we ended up in the Curve. It was cool. We stopped by Sony Style as my bro wanted to see the new PS3. I have to admit, it's quite cool. A bit bulky but with 80GB, who's complaining? Anyway, some of the conversations between Edward and Bella remind me of my conversations with my girl. The mood I mean. I'm not a vampire. I wouldn't survive in Malaysia. The conversations make me miss my girl even more... You know, the way Edward responds in some situations seems to echo of how I would react. Or vice versa. Whatever. It's a tad bit creepy. But Edward's inconsistent attitude towards Bella early in the story is not me. But I guess that's part of Edward's allure, eh? *Sigh*. I had to close the book for a while. It seems the more I read, the more I miss her. Anyway, that's all I wanted to say. I was feeli...

Ho-hum? Jeez, I Can't Even Write a Proper Title

It's already late-November and I can't go anywhere for a vacation because my mom's in Canada 'till 21st Dec. That's like 4 days before Christmas! What am I supposed to do until then? But at least my mom will be around when I get my PMR results. I hope. Hey, anyone know when the results are coming out? On different note, I'm SO bored. I have completely run out of ideas on how to spend the school holidays. I've tried so many things but somehow I lose interest in them very quickly. My bro is catching on Sudoku. I never liked that game. I've always found myself losing interest very quickly. Maybe I'll do that project I've been thinking of doing; finding a way to transfer all the videos from our old camcorder to the new one and then either burning it onto a CD or saving it on the PC. Wish my dad would let me go on outings with my friends but that's not happening. I envy those who can. Speaking of envy, has anyone ever watched Seven Si...
